Glogster: 21st Century Communication

  Hey!

In this assignment I worked with Sümeyra

For millions of years mankind lived just like the animals.
Then something happened which unleashed the power of our imagination.
We learned to talk.
It doesn't have to be like this,
all we need to do is make sure we keep talking.
-Stephen Hawking

We all think that 21st century messed up our communication. But, I think 21st century or the technology changed our communication style. And changed us. And I don't think change is bad a thing (not all the time). Change happens, it's inevitable. But, all we need to do is make sure we keep talking.

Digital Storytelling

Hi hi hi there.

"The long and windy road, that leads to your door."
-The Beatles

Digital storytelling was a great idea but it was a real "long and windy road" for us who take it seriously. As I stated in my previous entry, I love drawing and I love using my interests in my projects. Luckily, I have someone like me. Sümeyra. (thanks buddy). The project's deadline was the first week after the exams (except the exam week, we only had 5 days, I know there was a time before the exams but we had to study). And you know how hard and stressful exams can be. We managed to start it only 4 days before the deadline. "But then everything changed when the fire nation attacked." ups sorry. But then, Ms. Kurt changed the deadline.

Making up a story was a real challange but drawing and colouring was the hardest part because I didn't have enough time to do my best, and this irritated me.

Using Your Interests In Your Projects/Homework

Hello!

Firstly, I want to say I really love drawing. And in almost all possible projects, I draw. This makes the project much more fun and you know "cute". I don't know how you think guys, but if you have an interest, you really should use it in your projects/homework. That really helps.

In this entry, I want to show you (I said you, but I know no one is gonna read this ehehe, anyway) our last-term Approaches poster project. Instead of finding baby-boy pictures/photos, I drew them. That was easier for me.

And... these ones! In a class (I really can't remember the name), there was a presentation about "Are cartoons good or bad for children?" And we have to use the "6 Thinking Hats" for the presantation. I was the yellow one and Sümeyra was the blue one. We had to make hats but that was  really hard (and boring!) So we made them:

Yeah, we made them because we love cats&rabbits and Adventure Time!

And here we are! Meoow.

Comic Strip: Dazed & Confused

Hi hi hi there!

For this assignment, i worked with Sümeyra Balkan. We decided to make a comic strip and in the comic we had to use an idiom, but instead we used two! #Such rebels

It is about a boy who decided to become a hippie, but his parents did not approved his decision so he moved out.I guess he couldn't find happiness and peace out there, so he immediately regrets his decision and wants to come back home.. But will his parents accept him? What do you think? Should they?

The first idiom is 'out of the blue' which means without warning, unexpectedly. The other one is 'in a daze' which means unable to think clearly, confused. So this is our comic strip.

Evaluation of a "Webquest"

Konnichi wa minna-san.
Ehm. Hello everyone. This is my evaluation of a webquest task.
You can reach the webqust I evaluated from here

Title is very relevant to the topic. Topic is about animes and the title is about being an "otaku".
For you, the description can seem not adequate but for me, as an "otaku" the description is adequate. But of course it is not detailed. Grade level range is appropriate too since the one below range is "9-12th" grade. Being otaku isn't just for the kids or teens. Keywords are relevant because being an otaku requires knowing those terms and keywords.
The introduction draws the reader into the topic. And answers nearly all the things about animes, I mean it describes animes perfectly; it describes animes the way that everybody can understand. The
task is very clear but it doesn't require synthesis of multiple sources of information. "It is simply collection of information." The process page is organized well. The resources are not stated. What this webquest lack is it doesn't have resources. Criteria for success are not described. I don't like the evaluation criteria because it is limited and requires specific talents like "drawing" "voice acting"...
As for summary, conclusion is given, but I think it isn't detailed. There is no further message, idea or resources that encourage learners to extend their learning. The author can suggest anime films/series or cosplay conventions that they can join to extend their learning and understand how it feels being an otaku.
